Edipsos health spas, known since ancient times for its hot springs (more than 20.000 years old), mentioned by both Aristotle and Strabon and, nowadays one of the best known Greek holiday resorts.
It flourished in Roman times. On a hill close to Edipsos, lie the remains of the ancient city.
There are more than 80 hot springs with temperatures ranging up to 86° degrees in Celcius scale. The main groups of those springs are located at different points from where the water is channeled into the baths in hotels (not many) and in public buildings like the one of "Greek's National Tourism Organization" (G.N.T.O. or E.O.T. in Greek language). This is a unique worldwide phenomenon. Also you can find a kind of artificial hot waterfalls (shower) near the beach.
